Merging the Loose Ends of Life in Pursuit of the Whole Person
Six factors are key for holistic wellness The next time you stare into the mirror please consider your degree of vitality. How energetically alive are you? If tremendously enlivened, please give yourself a pat on the back as you are the only person responsible for your vital life-force. Similar but in direct contrast, sickness or dis-ease will present itself upon a request of the individual. Meaning, a disorder will manifest from distress created by an imbalance within the terrain of your system. Should you become ill, look into the mirror to find the primary cause. In the end, it is your decision to survive or thrive. There are six factors that will impact change in your life, below is a quick overview: 1. Thoughts—Your identity of self will directly impact your intention of health. 2. Breathing—You inhale and exhale roughly 20,000 times a day, please bring attentiveness to a small handful and notice the positive internal energy response. 3. Drinking—The quality and quantity of your water is crucial to your well-being. (Psst, the water in soda or coffee does not count) 4. Eating—“If man made it, don’t eat it.” Jack LaLanne was correct in saying this decades ago, but it is significantly more pertinent now than ever before. Please consume foods your body will recognize rather than a processed replica that will only tax your detoxification system. 5. Exercise—This may sound like an obvious statement coming from a Personal Trainer, but let's agree our body is designed for movement and not for massaging the seat cushion with our backside. 6. Sleep—I appreciate there is much to accomplish each and everyday, but please develop some respect for your sleep / wake cycle. How do you treat you? Everything being equal, your current state-of-health is a reflection of your past decisions. The sweet part is future results have nothing to do with your present situation. You are where you are, physically, right now. In a moment you will be where you are, physically, but different than you were a second ago. Do you get it? You, me, my dogs and the chair I am sitting on are always changing. Please avoid being confused if you are unable to see the transformation before your eyes, but rest assured everything is in a constant process of transition. And, it will happen with or without your attention to self. In my mind, the first of the six factors listed above trumps all, your thoughts. Everything is within your reach, success is yours guaranteed. Guaranteed, that is, if you have made a shift in your paradigm as it relates to how you treat you. How do you treat you?
